Some say that the holidays are just for the kids, well anybody who has ever received a pencil case for the third day of Hanukkah may disagree. Steak and Blow Job Day is supposed to be the counter argument to the dominating female aspect of February 14th, which is why it’s celebrated on March 14th, a month after Valentine’s Day.
Isn’t this just another holiday that came from nowhere like Halloween?
The idea was first heard in 2002 via US DJ Tom Birdsey. There has been a petition submitted to the US congress asking to make it a national holiday, and it contains over 4000 signatures; not really impressive compared to the 102,665,043 men in America. So there is some work to be done before Steak and Blow Job Day becomes a national holiday in the US.

There is a website for Steak and BJ day, and a Facebook page, which has almost 100,000 likes. If you are a woman then you will find the website a little dumb and if you are a man, you should stay away from the instructional videos. They sound like fun, but if you want to hear oral sex instructions being given out by a sewing circle as if they were baking a pie then you are the wrong gender! And, Do NOT listen to the Steak and BJ anthem. It is genuinely the worst song since Mariah Carey insisted on diamond-studded cough drops.
The inequality of it all?
Taking the patriarchal noise that feminists who cannot find boyfriends keep making, there is a certain inequality. Sure, men are supposed to treat their special lady to a day of romance on Valentine’s Day, but at night, it is often followed by a special treat for the man anyway. If he then also has his significant other perform two selfless acts on March the 14th too, then isn’t he having his steak and more?
The threat on the aftermath
Some women are supporting the move to make Steak and BJ day a national holiday. Around 50% of those women fall into the awesome girlfriend/wife category, and the other 50% have a very devious plan at work. They figure that if men get Steak and BJ day, then nobody will be able to refuse them “Chocolate and Cunnilingus day” or “Dinner and eat a hair pie” day. So be wary of making the holiday too popular, or women may end up with “Buy me shoes and kiss my cooze” day.
Steak and BJ day is not a demand! Moreover, since oral sex and cooking meals are an act of love, is it so terrible that it should happen at least once per year?
