New Years Resolutions For a Better Sex Life

It’s that time of year again chaps, the year is coming to a close (thank goodness)! What a year it’s been – I hope you’re all happy and healthy out there. New Year is always a great time for reflection and to consider how we can make changes to better ourselves in the year ahead. What better area of your life to focus on than your sex life?! Here are some of Chappie’s tips to get your sex life to another level in 2021.

Prioritise sexual health

Good sexual health is where a good sex life starts and there are some very simple steps you can take to ensure you don’t pick up any unwanted viral passengers on your conquests! These include:

  • Wrap your chap: this is essential with any new partners you encounter. Make sure your putting your condoms on properly too! This may sound silly but genital warts are a commonly transmittable disease when condoms are worn incorrectly. If you’re unsure how to wrap your chap, take a look at the NHS’s advice.
  • Get tested: I bang on (pardon the pun!) about this a lot, but it’s always worth emphasising – a lot of STIs don’t have symptoms until they’ve had the chance the cause irrevocable damage to your health.
  • Watch your alcohol consumption: we all love a bit of a merry night on the booze and then the thrill of going home with someone at the end of the night. But bear in mind the effect alcohol has on your judgement – make sure you sober up a bit before you jump into to bed to make sure you don’t forget protection!

Embrace toys

In 2020, sex toys have never been more important! Whilst the end of the pandemic is finally in sight, it’s not over yet. For several more months now, we’ll all have to refrain from brief encounters with a stranger or taking the next step with a date….

In the meantime, invest in some sex toys that can spice up your sex life. Male sex toys have come a long way since the archaic and scary-looking designs of the past – why not try the Lovehoney O Force Hands-free Masturbator to give your wrist a break? Or a try the We-Vibe Vector vibrator for prostate play?

Communicate more

Open and honest conversation is the key to any successful sexual relationship, whether it’s one that’s a week or a year old. Failing to communicate your needs, desires and (most importantly) boundaries can result in loss of confidence and trust between you and your partner.

Whether it’s a one night stand or an enduring partnership, use your physical and verbal communication skills to let your partner how you’re feeling.
