How Temperature Affects Your Chap

So I recently got wind of this phenomenon (and falsehood I might add), making its way around the internet: the idea that heat makes one’s penis bigger penis – some refer to this as ‘summer penis’ or ‘swamp dick’. This may sound far-fetched, but there is some tenuous truth in it.

Whilst heat can increase blood flow to the penis, making is appear larger, experts have confirmed that the effects would be so minor that they may as well not even be dignified with our attentions at all. However, there are some useful things to learn when it comes to how temperature affects your chap.

Does heat make your penis bigger?

The phrases ‘swamp dick’ and ‘summer penis’ were coined to describe the notion of the penis becomes stickier and sweatier after the summer sun.

But, as most of us will know, any sweat-inducing activity, from going to the gym, to sitting in a warm office in the wintertime, can bring about ‘swamp dick’.

We’ve all been there – you take off your pants and the smell that greets you isn’t of roses. It’s the smell of smegma and sweat lads; the struggle is real!

The science behind it is that an accumulation of sweat and moisture creates an ideal breeding ground for bacteria and infections, which lead to itching, foul smells and even flaky rashes.

Unfortunately, there are some pretty dire consequences of ‘swamp dick’. Because the groin is so close to the rectum, urine and faeces end up very close to one another, exacerbating the smell. Not ideal at all!

Will it make me ill?

It’s true that excessive heat around your genitals alone isn’t going to kill you, but there are consequences.

Bacterial inflammations around the head of the penis can occur and if you develop a fungal infection (such as a yeast infection), you could pass it on to someone else during sex.

It’s also worth remembering that non-life-threatening issues with one’s penis can be a huge source of low self-esteem for some.

By keeping your chap spick and span, you’re likely to feel more confident about when he comes out to play between the sheets!

How do I keep it at bay?

You’ll be pleased to hear there are ways to keep ‘swamp dick’ at bay. Avoiding tight-fitting clothing will give your penis more room to breathe. Be sure to choose materials like cotton and linen.

When you get out of the shower, make sure your penis is completely dry and retract the foreskin to make sure it’s been properly cleaned.

Experts have recommended rubbing organic coconut oil on your shaft and testicles after showering because it’s been proven to have antifungal properties.

As always, I’m here if you ever have any questions about all things penis! Good day chaps!
